Recipe for Dr. Pepper Chicken on the Grill

Dr Pepper Chicken on the Grill Recipe
- Whole Chicken
- Traeger Chicken Rub
- Holland Roasting Post
- Can of Dr Pepper
Rinse chicken in cold water and pat dry with paper towel.
Cover the chicken with Traeger Chicken Rub; make sure to drop some in the inside too. Place in large bag and refrigerate for 12/24 hours.
Preheat Grill for 30 minutes
Pour half the Dr. Pepper in a measuring cup (drink the rest and enjoy) and add a teaspoon of your Traeger Seasoning into the Dr Pepper (will foam a little, not like mentos and diet coke) and pour the sauce into your Roasting Post. After placing your chicken on the Roasting Post, stand the chicken in the center of your hot grate. Cook the chicken till the skin is golden brown and the internal temperature is about 170 F. Takes anywhere from 1 hour to 1 ½ hour.
